Okay actually, it is the first full day of the Olympics so everyone on TV is calling today Day One. But for me it’s Day Two. Deal.
I woke up at 6:30 this a.m. and said, no it is too early to go watch the Olympics, go back to sleep. That lasted till about 7:30 a.m. and then I came down, popped a Diet Coke and picked up a Fish Hat. The Men’s Road Race was on. Wow. That’s a lot of going around and around and around and around and around. But I totally enjoyed it. I was hoping the Brit would win because dang, he was hot, but no. A guy from Khabababbastan won. I was really happy because apparently, he is really old. He’s like 39 or something. Dang, what does that feel like?
Okay, so about halfway thru the Road Race it hits me – if I sit here for 17 days straight and just knit (when I am not actually earning a living) my sweet bippy is gonna get even bigger. So I propose another rule:
5. Every day must include some form of athletic activity on the part of the knitter (me!). So today I did three things:
1. Got on the elliptical and watched Women’s Beach Volleyball. Looking at those hard bodies will get this flabby body MOVING.
2. Walked Rocky
3. Got back on the elliptical and tried to watch Dressage. Nearly dropped off the machine after dozing off.
I also watered the backyard, made a white bean salad and did a load of laundry. OH – and went to Michaels to buy buttons for the eyes for my Fish Hats.
WHICH ARE NOW DONE:
For those of you keeping track at home, that brings the number of completed projects to THREE.
Bronze shoes I MEAN MEDAL here I come.

Go, go, GO………!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think Terry needs to keep that hat. He’s good at math, right?
Finished shawl this morning. Will probably also finish blanket today while I’m supposed to be cleaning house. On to my navy blue cotton cardigan!
Hey, Anne! You go girl!!! Is that your first finished object since Olympics started? And who needs a clean house??? You think those women who just flew over the finish line in the Women’s Road Race have clean houses???? I think NOT!
This is great! I just realized it’s very difficult to watch the Olympics over here, both logistically and to have the time, which makes me sad because normally I watch them 24/7 at home! BUT I will be in London the 7th-11th so hopefully that will allow for some Olympics experience! Great fish hats btw
