The Sisters of the Perpetual Purl

I went to my little lace group last Tuesday night and look at some of the things these talented women have gotten up to!

Tracey and her Rainy Day

Here is a picture of Tracey with her Rainy Day Shawl. My God, look at the sparkle and the incredible way this yarn – Kid Seta Noir – opens up in the lace pattern. Amazing.

Ruth was showing off her recently-blocked Aeolian shawl made with FDC’s Centolavaggi. This may be one of the most beautiful pieces I’ve ever seen. And Ruth pretty much rocks the house when it comes to blocking.

Ruth’s Aeolian

Ruth modeling in a shirt that isn’t a good color for contrast, but you get the picture haha

So why the title of this post? Because we were talking about the Aeolian, which three of the four of us have done, and how when you get to the end you are purling back over so many stitches it just feels like it will never, ever end. Thus, our new name – The Sisters of the Perpetual Purl.

And what am I up to? Well, I just finished and blocked Fickle Knitter’s new Obi Shawl – I did it as a mystery KAL, but I don’t have a pic yet because it is still blocking. And I am hard at work on Cornish Rhapsody. Again, nothing to show. I suck. But I am hoping to suck less in the near future.
